I build IT Infrastructure !
A cloud and systems engineer, building resilient infrastructure with automation, observability, and high availability at its core.
Recently, I started a project that came out of a discussion with my childhood friend while planning his wedding. As we were looking at vendors that print wedding invitation cards, we quickly realized …
For a long time, I used to populate server memory mostly based on common sense and experience, not really on a deep technical understanding of why things worked the way they did. Back then, it was …
In order for devices to communicate with each other, they need some sort of: Direct connectivity (being in the same L2 LAN), Routed network (a properly defined route between the different LANs), or …
If you’ve ever struggled to find the public IP address of a server, especially when you only have CLI access, you’re not alone. There are services out there like ifconfig.me, ipify.org, and others. …
Zabbix provides powerful alerting features, and customizing email templates can significantly improve readability and response efficiency. Below is a fully styled HTML email template tailored for …
In a production environment, ensuring your infrastructure is always available is critical. Combining HAProxy (for load balancing) and Keepalived (for automatic failover) provides a robust solution for …

My tech stack includes:I currently serve as a Lead Cloud Engineer at Zergaw Cloud, where I oversee the architecture, execution, and optimization of cloud infrastructure projects.
In my earlier role at Zergaw Cloud, I focused on building and maintaining both private and public cloud environments tailored for high-availability services.
At Huawei, I worked as a Cloud Engineer supporting mission-critical IT Projects and cloud infrastructure services for Ethiopia’s primary telecom operator.
At CITCoT ICT Consulting, I work as a Project based Technical Trainer, delivering hands-on, high-impact training in cloud computing and IT infrastructure.
Completed a rigorous 5-year Electrical Engineering undergraduate program with a specialization on Computer Engineering.
Straight A’ed several core courses relevant to my career, including:
Designed, deployed, and maintained a sovereign public cloud platform for a leading cloud provider in Ethiopia, focusing on usability, high availability, security, and resilience to serve a large number of enterprise and individual customers nationwide.
Designed, deployed, and maintained production grade, multi node, multi disk, scale out software defined storage platforms using open source technologies, leveraging Ceph RBD for block storage, RGW for object storage, and CephFS with MDS for distributed file storage.
Implemented a centralized observability platform using Grafana, Loki, Prometheus, and Grafana Alloy. Integrated centralized dashboards, log aggregation, metrics collection, and alerting to provide unified visibility across infrastructure and services.
